Leonardo J. Caraballo

Leo has an extensive range of experience in the area of commercial real estate. He counsels real estate developers, property owners, and business entities across all real estate asset classes in connection with acquisitions, dispositions, development matters, financings, and joint ventures. On transactional matters, Leo represents clients on the purchase and sale of multifamily, retail, office, industrial, mixed-use properties, as well as development sites. He has significant experience negotiating acquisition, development and construction loans on behalf of borrowers. Leo negotiates complex joint ventures for real estate developments on behalf of developers and investors, and routinely advises clients on a broad array of matters relating to the governance structure and documentation for new condominium and mixed-use developments. He counsels clients at every stage of the new construction or conversion process, which has allowed him to work on hundreds of developments throughout his career, including the acquisition, development and disposition of numerous notable projects in Florida.

With in-depth knowledge of real estate and condominium law matters, Leo understands the needs and issues faced by developers and property owners. By representing clients on both sides of a transaction, Leo’s experience gives him the know-how to advise clients on issues as they arise and enables him to understand the business terms and issues facing each party to effectively negotiate and finalize agreements and contracts.    

Leo is fluent in Spanish and attended Tulane University where he received his Bachelor’s of Arts and Juris Doctor degrees, and received his Master of Laws degree from the University of Miami School of Law.

  • Represented developers in the structuring, creation, financing, and sale of new residential, commercial, hotel and mixed condominiums and vertical subdivisions.
